NOSTALGIE & TRAURIGKEIT
A CINEMATIC JOURNEY THROUGH PAST AND FUTURE
The world is at a turning point. Uncertainty and fear dominate our sense of time, while humanity is losing touch with nature and itself. Schrotthagen captures this atmosphere – with nostalgia, romanticism, and a longing for a world that may soon cease to exist. Their new album is a reflection on destruction and rebirth, on the social life we must relearn. Musically, it's a journey through decades, a homage to the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, wrapped in a cinematic soundscape of techno, trance, and cinematic elements. Influences from pop culture, orchestral drama, and pulsating club sounds merge into a unique experience – the typical Schrotthagen sound design, this time more precise, more epic, and with an even stronger common thread.
A journey in five acts – musical & visual dramaturgy
The album follows a unique release strategy: each single tells a part of the story – both musically and visually.
• March 22 – First single
• April 24 – Second single
• May 30 – Third Single
• July 11 – Fourth single
• August 15 – Album release with focus track & music video
A short film was shot for each single released, continuing the story of the first Schrotthagen video. On August 15, everything culminates in the grand finale: a lavishly produced music video that forms the narrative and visual framework of the album. The film production was once again realized by a star team of Grimme Award, German Camera Award, and German Film Award winners.
Emotions, nostalgia and the big question about tomorrow
The album explores pain, loneliness, love, longing, and fear of the future. A special moment: the outro, "The End Is Near," which confronts us with the question of what we are already increasingly losing.
Participating artists & special features
In addition to long-time collaborators like Katharina Stark (known from the hit single "Pain in My Heart") and Cheriimoya (Living Life in the Night), there's another special voice this time: singer-songwriter Noah Umali, whose vocals bring additional emotional depth to the album. There's also a new addition: Giovanni, the producer behind Schrotthagen, sings on several tracks himself.
The next step – international expansion
For the first time, an album concept with continuous
Dramaturgy – this is reflected not only in the sound, but also in the entire
